The 20th Century Club of Waynesburg will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church. Hostesses will be MaChal Forbes and Michelle Pulkownik. All members are urged to attend and bring five of their favorite things for the gift exchange.
East Franklin Grange will host a Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday for members only. The regular monthly meeting will follow, according to president Bonnie Smouse. Members will review 2012 activities and accomplishments, discuss grange finances and begin planning activities for 2013. Discussion may include the annual Pennsylvania State Grange Family Festival held in July in Center County, the annual state session to be held in October at State College, a trip to Kelly Farm and displays at the Jacktown Fair and Greene County Fair. The group also will schedule a date for a county-wide degree obligation ceremony and a day for members from all county granges to get together to sew tote bags for members of the military and residents of area nursing homes.
Xi Lambda Sorority will hold its Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday in the home of Linda Ankey-Moore. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.
Wayneburg Senior Center will be taking a bus to Oglebay to see the lights. It will leave from the Big Lots parking lot at 3 p.m. Thursday, making a stop to shop at Cabela’s, then to Bob Evans for a meal and then to Oglebay. Cost per person is $25. If interested, call Tina Raber at 724-627-6366. There are some seats still available.
Jefferson Church of the Nazarene on Washington Street will have a free clothing bank from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Please, no early arrivers.
Mt. Morris Water and Sewage Authority will conduct a leak detection test on its water distribution system from 1 to 3 a.m. Friday. Customers may experience a drop or loss in water pressure during this time period. For more information, call 724-324-2186.
Community Sewing Circle of Time will meet Friday for an all-day meeting in the social room of the Union Valley United Methodist Church. Donna Bennett will be hostess and program leader. Word for roll call is “angel.” Note the change of date.
A support group for families with loved ones dealing with addiction will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the basement of Jefferson Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.
