Five area men face drug charges

Five area men face drug charges following a November incident at a Bentleyville gas station.

Southwest Regional police were called shortly before 5 p.m. Nov. 29 to assist the Washington County Office of Adult Probation at the Pilot gas station along Wilson Road.

According to police, Jeffrey Irwin, 27, of 3 Liberty St., Bentleyville, was found to be in possession of heroin, oxycodone and methylphenidate. He was charged with three counts each of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver.

Police said the remaining four men, who face charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, are Eric M. Yanov, 29, of 352 Johnston Road, Benteyville; Billy Varner, 26, of 1130 North 88 Road, Rices Landing; Matthew R. Harvey, 25, of 420 E. Wheeling St., Washington; and Reginald R. Davis, 25, of 235 Chestnut St., Washington.

Police indicated charges were filed with District Judge Curtis Thompson.
