The Allegheny County Bomb Squad is identifying and testing a suspected improvised explosive device found Wednesday in the home of a Canonsburg man who is facing drug charges as part of the investigation.
Investigators have remanded Justin Miller, 25, to Washington County Jail on a parole violation as they continue to investigate the case, borough police said.
Police were called to Miller’s residence at 310 Cecil St. about 7 p.m. after parole officers conducting a routine compliance check on him said they noticed marijuana in plain view in his living room.
District Judge David Mark then signed a warrant allowing police to search the residence. Police said they seized a large amount of marijuana from the home, along with drug paraphernalia and firearms. The suspicious device was found in a bedroom, police said.
Additional information will be released today after police learn the outcome of the testing by the bomb squad.
