The Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce has announced broadcast dates for the 2012 Downtown Waynesburg Christmas Parade. The parade was underwritten by Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency.
It will be shown on the Comcast cable system serving Waynesburg and Franklin Township. Parade coverage will begin at 6 p.m. Thrusday on Channel 14. Coverage will repeat at the top of every hour until Dec. 31.
The parade also can be viewed at http://wctv.waynesburg.edu. Click the “Playlists” tab and scroll to the bottom of the program listings. Click “Waynesburg Christmas Parades,” and select the first parade listed.
Previous Waynesburg Christmas parades also are available online.
The parade coverage was produced by Waynesburg University’s Department of Communication. Department students and faculty worked on camera and in behind-the-scenes crew positions.
“The production is our communication department’s Christmas gift to Greene County,” said Bill Molzon, Waynesburg University’s director of TV operations.
Parade coverage also includes an excerpt from a concert presented by the university’s department of fine arts and the music program, “A Renaissance Christmas.” The concert was performed in Roberts Chapel on the university’s campus.
The Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce would also like to thank all those businesses and individuals who helped to make this year’s parade a success. Ninety-two units participated in the parade and officially welcomed Santa into the downtown to kick off the holiday season in Waynesburg.
