Drug possession: Two Washington men were arrested and placed in the Washington County jail after they fled from police Saturday morning in a chase that extended into Chartiers Township. State police saw a vehicle operated by Albais S. Babb, 21, of Washington, failed to stop at a traffic light at the intersection of Jefferson and Wylie avenues. As police attempted to stop the vehicle, they said Babb fled and was seen throwing bags of cocaine from the vehicle. He eventually drove through the front yard of a home on Henderson Avenue, got out of the vehicle and tried to run away. He was caught a few hundred yards away. Dalvaughn L. Emory, 26, of Washington, and a 17-year-old female were unable to get out of the car and were apprehended. Police said another back seat passenger managed to flee. Both Babb and Emory were arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and each jailed on $25,000 bond. Babb was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, careless driving, reckless driving, eluding police, driving while under a suspended license and drug possession. Emory was charged with carrying a firearm without a license and drug possession. The girl was placed in juvenile custody, police said.

Car wreck: An unknown driver apparently lost control of his or her vehicle and struck a number of mailboxes on Cross Creek Road early Saturday. State police said the vehicle has front-end damage and anyone with information should call 724-223-5200.
