Two charged: Ronald D. McMillian, 20, and Frederick D. Owens, 19, both of Washington, were charged with having a small amount of marijuana by state police following a traffic stop Dec. 4. Police said the two were passengers in a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign at Hayes Avenue and Wilmington Street, Canton. The charges were filed with District Judge David Mark.

Warrant arrest: Kenneth E. Jackson, 51, of Washington, was taken into custody by state police in Pittsburgh Friday morning near the Bridgeville rest area on Interstate 79. Police stopped the truck for driving past an inspection area of the rest stop at 10:20 a.m. When officers ran Jackson’s license, they learned he was wanted for felony theft and burglary in Las Vegas, Nev. Jackson was taken to the Allegheny County jail to await extradition to Nevada.

Vehicles damaged: Several vehicles were damaged Sunday morning by vandals writing on them with black markers. State police said the vehicles were parked in the 600 block of Preferred Drive, South Franklin, and are believed to have been damaged after midnight and before 3 a.m. Police said there have been other cases of criminal mischief in the area usually occurring Friday or Saturday night.

Mailbox stolen: Adrienne Matus of Coal Center reported to state police in Belle Vernon her mailbox was stolen last week.
