WAYNESBURG – Several criminal defendants pleaded guilty Wednesday before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman. They included the following:

Russell Edward Bercosky, 22, of 1632 Lone Pine Road, Marianna; offenses – driving under the influence and a summary offense. Bercosky was stopped by police on April 28 in Waynesburg after failing to stop for a stop sign and changing lanes without signaling. His blood-alcohol content was 0.088 percent; sentence – 2 days to 6 months in jail, 75 hours community service and $325 in fines, plus fees, and court costs.

Richard Leo Gump, 45, of 45 Reeseman’s MHP, Waynesburg; offense – theft by deception. Gump made a $2.11 purchase at Pecjak’s Sunoco Jan. 23, tendering a $20 bill for payment. He was caught on video pocketing a $10 bill from the change he received and then telling the clerk he was given incorrect change. The clerk issued him another $10 bill and Gump exited the establishment; sentence – 14 days to 6 months in jail, $250 in fines, plus fees, court costs and $10 restitution to Pecjak’s Sunoco.

Brian Randal Ealy, 29, of 3127 Mount Morris Road, Waynesburg; offenses – fleeing or eluding police and three summary violations. Ealy was driving an off-road motorcycle near Elm Drive in Franklin Township. When police attempted to pull him over Ealy he left the roadway, drove through some weeds and then failed to negotiate a dirt pile; sentence – one year of probation, 75 hours community service, $375 in fines, plus fees and court costs.
