State Rep. Peter J. Daley II, D-California, said he looks forward to addressing the concerns that impact Pennsylvania consumers with his appointment as Democratic chairman of the House Consumer Affairs Committee.
Committee appointments were announced Wednesday by House Democratic leadership.
“The Consumer Affairs Committee tackles many of the tough issues that confront individuals and families on a daily basis – from dealing with utilities to consumer privacy and protection issues,” Daley said. “I am honored to be in a position where I can help individuals and families with the problems that impact their wallets and their quality of life.
The Consumer Affairs Committee has oversight on a number of Pennsylvania industries and entities, including gas, electric and water utilities; the telecommunications and cable industries; and the Public Utility Commission.
Daley is entering his 16th term in the Legislature. Before his appointment to Consumer Affairs, he served for three terms as Democratic chairman of the House Commerce Committee.
