A Monongahela man was arrested Thursday by Monongahela police for allegedly having inappropriate contact with two girls under the age of 10.

Ronald Gray, 48, of 517 Hudson St., was charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and displaying obscene and other sexual material.

Police Chief Brian Tempest said his department was notified Tuesday by the Washington County district attorney’s office after that office was alerted by the parents of the two girls. A forensic interview with the girls was conducted by an assistant district attorney and Washington County Children and Youth Services.

Tempest said Gray is accused of inappropriately touching the girls and showing them pornographic material.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Gray Wednesday.

“It is nice to see it come about so quickly,” Tempest said of the arrest.

Gray was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday in Central Court.
