PITTSBURGH (AP) – Snow began to fall Friday afternoon across Western Pennsylvania, but major accumulations weren’t expected until the evening and early morning.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for parts of Northwest Pennsylvania Friday while an advisory is in effect for Pittsburgh.
Forecasters say Pittsburgh could get two to five inches by the time the storm moves out today, and higher elevations could get up to 18 inches.
The storm warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. today.
On Friday afternoon the weather service issued a flood warning for the Philadelphia area, and strong winds are expected today.
Heavy rain also trigged small stream flood warnings in Eastern Pennsylvania, where high winds also brought down some trees.
