BENSALEM (AP) – The death of an elderly Philadelphia-area women whose body was recovered from the Delaware River has been ruled an accidental drowning.
Bucks County Coroner Joseph Campbell told The Philadelphia Inquirer on Friday that toxicology tests will take about a month to complete to determine whether alcohol was a factor in the death of 73-year-old Jean Carson of Bensalem.
Police said Carson, a legal secretary, had attended a Christmas party on Wednesday night and was last seen smoking near the Neshaminy Creek, which runs behind the house and flows into the Delaware. Her body was recovered from the river Thursday.
