Lions select two students of the month
WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Lacey Peterson and Wyatt Goehring have been selected as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for December.
Peterson, daughter of Phillip and Mary Peterson, Patterson Run Road, Waynesburg, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
She is president of student council, senior class president, secretary of Alpha Beta and a member of the yearbook staff, SADD, National Honor Society and elementary tutoring.
She has received the Anna Gordon Meighen World History Award, The Challenge Program community service award, as well as academic awards in English, math, science and history. Peterson was the 2012 homecoming queen and has been a member of the Christmas, Valentines, Cinderella and prom courts.
She plans to attend Fairmont State University, where she was recruited for the acrobatics and tumbling team. She plans to major in accounting and become a CPA.
Goehring, son of Larry and Mariann Goehring, Spraggs, maintains a 3.875 grade-point average.
He is a member of the ski club, Academic League, National Honor Society, art club and Spanish club.
He has received high honors in chemistry, physics and ecology and was a PSSA silver medalist.
Goehring plans to attend West Virginia University and earn a degree in civil engineering.
