A number of minor crashes have been reported throughout the area due to snow and icy conditions. Area roadways are snow-covered and traffic is moving slowly or stopped. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of western and northern Pennsylvania through 6 a.m. Thursday, saying some areas could see two to three inches of snow fall in an hour. Heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected. This area could receive several inches of snow today with the heaviest accumulation expected from mid-morning through early afternoon and will then taper off to light snow or freezing drizzle.
