Twin brothers from Washington have been arrested on charges they were dealing cocaine from a Canton Township motel in late 2011.

State police on Saturday arrested Ryan E. Ellis, 23, of 865 Addison Ave., and Nathan C. Ellis, 23, of 31 1/2 E. Hallam Ave., on charges of drug possession, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show.

Police went to Room 245 at the Red Roof Inn at 1339 W. Chestnut St. about 1:45 a.m. Nov. 2, 2011, after receiving information about drugs being sold there, the affidavit indicates.

Nathan Ellis open the door when police arrived, and he consented to a search of the room after telling police he didn’t know “whose room it was anyway,” the record indicates.

Police said they seized from the room a digital scale with cocaine residue on its weighing plate, 11 Alprazolam pills found in Nathan Ellis’ pocket and 1.4 grams of cocaine that had been stomped into the carpeting in an apparent attempt to keep police from seeing it, the record shows.

Both men were remanded to the Washington County jail on $75,000 bonds set by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
