AMWELL DUI charged: State police said they filed charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and underage drinking against a Washington man involved in a one-car accident at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday in Amwell Township. According to police, Dylan J. Huseman, 20, was driving north on Route 19 just south of Weaver Run Road when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve in the road. The car traveled into the southbound lane and struck a tree. Police said neither Huseman or a passenger in his car, Daniel C. Saunders, 19, of Washington, was injured.
CROSS CREEK DUI charged: An Avella man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a crash late Tuesday on Route 50, state police reported. Police said Kevin Balzer, 48, was involved in a one-vehicle accident at 10:48 p.m. just east of Avella High School in Cross Creek Township. After further investigation, police filed DUI charges against Balzer with the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
FAYETTE COUNTY Suspect sought: Belle Vernon state police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Deago Eddings, 16, of Uniontown, who is accused in the shooting of an unidentified 6-year-old Uniontown boy. According to police, the boy was shot near a basketball court at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Hunters Ridge housing complex in Redstone Township. Police said Eddings, who is black, was last seen wearing black shorts and black and red Air Jordan shoes. There were no reports on the condition of the boy, who was taken to Uniontown Hospital by a family member. Anyone with information on the whereabouts on Eddings is being asked to call state police at Belle Vernon at 724-929-6262.
NORTH BETHLEHEM Criminal mischief: Two mailboxes along Roberts Road in North Bethlehem Township were the targets of criminal mischief early Monday, state police said. According to police, a mailbox owned by Raymond Reitzer of Eighty Four was set on fire, while another mailbox belonging to Dana Smith, also of Eighty Four, was stolen. Anyone with information on the incidents is being asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
