Associated Press STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) Penn State trustees expect the independent investigation into the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal to examine issues ranging from university governance to the authority of longtime coach Joe Paterno.

A person with knowledge of recent discussions among some trustees says the report from former FBI director Louis Freeh is expected to touch on issues beyond the allegations against the longtime assistant.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to speak about the topic.

The person hasn’t seen the report but has knowledge of trustee updates on the inquiry’s progress. Freeh says the report won’t be given to anyone before Thursday morning.

Trustees have said the probe would take a sweeping look at the scandal and related issues.
