A McDonald man faces several charges stemming from incidents earlier this month in Burgettstown and McDonald boroughs.

Robert Lynn Stone Jr., 50, of 50 Primrose Road, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of stalking, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Stone was accused of following Bridget Weaver of Follansbee, W.Va., April 14 after she left work in Burgettstown and inquiring the whereabouts of his estranged girlfriend, Mary Tomay Turkily of Burgettstown, McDonald police said.

The following day, Stone reportedly parked across the street from Turkily?s place of employment in Burgettstown.

He also is accused of calling Turkily numerous times this month. He has refused her requests to stop calling. McDonald police has charged him with violating a protection-from-abuse order obtained by Turkily in January from Judge Gary Gilman.

Stone also faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, having an open container of alcohol and driving under suspension stemming from an April 16 incident on School Street in McDonald.

Police first spotted Stone?s sport utility vehicle stopped diagonally across the street with him standing next to the vehicle. He then got in and drove north on School when he was stopped by police who knew his license was suspended.

A cold can of beer was in the cupholder along with five unopened cans. Stone refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test or sign his warning notice.

Stone was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond following his arraignment last week. The other charges will be filed at the offices of Havelka and District Judge Valarie Costanzo.
