Assault charge: Jeffrey E. Ritenour, 27, of 207 Munnell St., Canonsburg, was charged Wednesday by Canonsburg police with simple assault and harassment. He is accused of grabbing Bobbi Howe by the wrist Monday and bending it back during a confrontation at their home. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Two assaulted: Sean Miller, 22, whose last known address was 1719 Jefferson Ave., Canton, was charged Tuesday by state police with two counts each of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of being one of two men who reportedly assaulted Barni Allin Booth and Bobby Lee Wolfe as they walked along The Road, Canton, May 29. Miller and another man, known only as “Phil” got out of two vehicles and allegedly assaulted Booth and Wolfe.The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Escaped injury: Halena Griffith, 18, of Houston, escaped injury Tuesday night when her car slid on the wet ramp to Interstate 79 northbound at the Southpointe interchange, Cecil, spun clockwise and hit a guardrail, state police said.

Excavator stolen: State police are investigating the theft of a Kubota excavator owned by Baylee Equipment Rental of Crucible from a construction site at Newland School and Ash roads, East Finley. The excavator, valued at $56,841, was reported stolen Friday. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.

Medication stolen: Martha Ruschell of Richeyville told North Strabane police Tuesday her prescription medication was stolen Oct. 22 while she was on a field trip at Spring House, 1531 Route 136.Truck rolls: Hayley Marie Mondine, 21, of Bridgeville, escaped injury Tuesday when her pickup truck rolled into a ditch after crossing railroad tracks in the 1400 block of Route 519, North Strabane police said.Man injured: Todd Watson, 42, of Belle Vernon, was slightly injured when his pickup truck hit a car driven by Jessica A. Dernosek, 29, of 18 Edwards Drive, Canonsburg, and rolled over about 5 p.m. Tuesday at Route 519 and Brownlee Road, North Strabane police said.

Forced entry: Residents living at 111 and 113 Valley View Road, Nottingham Township, told state police somebody broke into their houses and stole $5,160 worth of jewelry and one gun from the two residences Tuesday.

Charges pending: Nathan Myers, 33, of 881 E. McMurray Road, Venetia, called police from his home at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday to report he had been in an accident, township police said. Police eventually found his vehicle in the 200 block of Snowberry Circle. Myers suffered an injury to his eye, and ambulance personnel were called to his home. He refused medical treatment, police said. Charges are pending the results of a blood test. He will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, damage to attended vehicle or property and damage to unattended vehicle or property.

Man charged: Michael A. Hough, 44, of 617 Mingo Park Estates, Finleyville, was charged Wednesday by Southwest Regional police with fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving without lights to avoid identification and traffic violations stemming from an Oct. 20 incident on Route 88 and Ginger Hill Road, Union. Police tried to stop him for a traffic violation, but he fled. He was apprehended at his home.DUI charge: Charles A. Folle, 45, of 4 Spruce Lane, Daisytown, was charged Wednesday by Southwest Regional police with DUI after almost striking a police cruiser Oct. 20 on Finleyville-Elrama and Gilmore roads, Union. After police stopped him, he almost struck the officer as he walked to Folle’s vehicle.

Harassment charge: Robert Koman, 50, of 147 Verona Drive, South Strabane Township, was charged last week by Washington police with harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of going to the apartment of Julie Bradley, 38, Leonard Avenue, in September. He reportedly sat in his vehicle and then went to her apartment, wanting to talk with her. Police said he also called or sent her text messages after he was told to leave her alone. Police said he reportedly went to her apartment every Saturday for a month. Charges were originally filed with District Judge Robert Redlinger but were transferred Tuesday to the office of District Judge David Mark.Possession charge: Joseph Earl Gorby, 24, of 619 Best Ave., Canton, was charged by District Judge Robert Redlinger Tuesday with six charges of possession of drugs and paraphernalia. State police pulled Gorby over May 4 near the Jefferson exit of Interstate 70 and found syringes, eight stamp bags of heroin and other drug-related items in his vehicle, according to court documents.
