A Washington man was arrested Thursday afternoon by South Strabane Township police after leading officers and loss prevention workers from Walmart on a foot chase through the parking lot at Trinity Point to Interstate 70.

Iglesias Jones, 21, of 42 Kennedy Ave., was stopped by loss prevention employee as he left the store about 3:30 p.m. with items he reportedly stole. Police said he shoved one of the loss prevention workers as he ran out the door.

Police received a call that a man wearing a white, hooded shirt was being chased through the parking lot and was headed behind the Ponderosa restaurant.

Police gave up the chase when Jones crossed the ramp from Route 19 north to I-70 west. He crossed both lanes of the highway. Jones was apprehended at Washington Chevrolet.

When Jones was caught, he was wearing the headphones he allegedly stole around his neck. He also had a Wii game system, and equipment for a PlayStation 3 and Xbox.

Store personnel told police that Jones had been given a no-trespass notice from a Walmart in Latrobe, Westmoreland County.

Jones was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins on charges of robbery, retail theft, harassment and criminal trespass. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $35,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 13 before District Judge Jay Weller.
