A College and Career Fair will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. today at the Greene County Career and Technology Center. Students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of post-secondary schools, local businesses, agencies and military recruiters. This is an informational activity to provide information about course offerings and career possibilities. Parents and community members are invited to attend and ask questions of the experts, as well as tour the career center.
The 20th Century Club of Waynesburg will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church and will be hosted by Sharon Heath and Kim Phillips. All members are urged to attend and are reminded to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the toy drive.
Xi Lambda Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in Jefferson Community Center. Hostesses are Connie Loughman and Vickie Funk.
Jefferson United Methodist Church will hold a baked steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Jefferson Community Center. The cost of dinner for adults is $10 and children 12 and under $5. Take-outs will be available.
The Cornerstone Genealogical Society holiday dinner meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at Rohanna’s Restaurant. The cost of dinner is $20. Tickets are available at the log courthouse in Waynesburg. The deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 9. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 123 will hold a benefit chicken roast Nov. 11 with all proceeds going to Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child will be received Nov. 12-18 at the relay center at Oak View United Methodist Church. Call Nicki Strayer at 724-883-4020 for drop-off times and information.
