The Washington County Animal Response Team is hosting a Save Your Horse seminar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at the North Strabane Township Fire Department, 2550 Washington Road.

The four-hour seminar includes new and updated information.

Horse owners will learn how to work with emergency responders, get an overview on proper lifting techniques and placement of rescue hardware and how to tie emergency harnesses and halters.

Other topics include safe horse hauling and safety in the use of trailers, on the trails, in the pasture and in the event of a barn fire.

The cost is $25, with discounts available to groups. Class is limited to 40, and pre-registration is required. Lunch will be served.

The county’s animal rescue team was recently involved in saving a horse in Somerset Township.

To register or for more information, contact Ed Childers at the North Strabane fire department at 724-745-101, ext. 133, or visit the website at www.nstfd.org.
