Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges.

Appearing before Judge Gary Gilman were:

Sandor F. Macz, 38, of 502 Lincoln Ave., Apt. 1, North Charleroi; simple assault, reckless endangerment; charged Sept. 8 for assaulting a woman at his home; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Theodore J. Carpenter, 45, of 811 Washington Ave., Charleroi; false identification; charged Aug. 17 at Armando’s Pizza in Charleroi; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Julie R. Roth, 31, of 184 E. Sunset Drive, Washington; theft by unlawful taking; charged for stealing jewelry from people living with her from Dec. 26, 2010, to Aug. 15, 2011; sentence – Intermediate Punishment Program for 23 months with the first 6 months of intensive supervision.

Jolie R. Roth, 31, of 545 Pike St., Upper Apartment, Meadowlands; possession of marijuana; charged Feb. 10 at her home; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Alexis L. Secilia, 23, of 352 Shortcut Road, Jefferson; possession of Opana, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged July 20 at Walmart in South Strabane Township; sentence – Probation Without Verdict Program for 12 months.

Larry J. Shirey, 32, of 1257 Laurel Hill Road, McDonald; possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Aug. 6 following a traffic stop on Noblestown Road in Mt. Pleasant Township; sentence – Probation Without Verdict Program for 6 months.

Brandon T. Michaux, 19, of 37 Main St., Daisytown; simple assault; charged Aug. 1 for assaulting a man on Second Street in California; sentence – 12 months of probation, 40 hours of community service.

Willie H. Cannon Jr., 51, of 351 Locust Ave., Apt. 4, Washington; retail theft; charged Aug. 12 at Walmart in South Strabane Township; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Albert E. Richter, 25, of 777 Fifth St., Apt. 1, Beaver; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged April 18 on Blaine Road in California; sentence – Probation Without Verdict Program for 6 months.

Appearing before Judge Janet Moschetta Bell were:

Samantha D. Scagline, 21, of 916 McKean Ave., Charleroi; false identification; charged May 2 following a traffic stop on Country Club Road in Carroll Township; sentence – 6 months of probation.

Nicole A. Malush, 29, of 44 Mannina Ave., Dunlevy; possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia; simple assault; charged Dec. 13, 2010, for assaulting emergency department staff at Mon Valley Hospital, on May 24 for possession of paraphernalia at 225 Third St., California, and on June 18 for possessing heroin at her home; sentence – 3 to 36 months in jail.

Robert B. Doty, 26, of 201 Lacock st., Washington; possession of narcotics; charged May 6 at the Waffle House on Murtland Avenue in South Strabane Township; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Alisha N. Brown, 20, of 316 National Pike East, Brownsville; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged July 7 following a traffic stop on Fifth Street in California; sentence – 12 month of probation.

Tracy Giffen, 40, of 12 Playford Ave., Brownsville; possession of morphine; charged Feb. 29 at 1170 First St., Denbo; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Joshua T. Hutnyan, 21, of 9664 Olde Georgetown; Centerville, Ohio; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Feb. 12, 2011, at 812 California Road, California; sentence – 9 months of probation.

Ryan C. Ritenour, 28, of 46 Junction A St., Ellsworth; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Nov. 2 at 24 Hot House Lane, South Strabane Township; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Appearing before Judge Katherine B. Emery were:

Andrew W. Anderson, no age listed, of 101 Cherry St., Coal Center; theft, possession of marijuana; charged Feb. 27 for stealing a golf cart from the old Bentworth Middle School in Ellsworth, and on March 15 for possession at the state police barracks in Washington; sentence – Intermediate Punishment Program for 23 months with the first 3 months of intensive supervision, 25 hours of community service.

Jonathan M. Gillespie, 28, of 1157 Wilmington St., Washington; resisting arrest; charged April 4 at his home; sentence – Intermediate Punishment Program for 12 months with the first 90 days on electronic home monitoring.

Brenda Wheeler, no age listed, of 4 Walnut St., Ellsworth; first driving under the influence offense; charged April 15 following a traffic stop on Main Street in Burgettstown with a 0.274 BAC; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver’s license suspension.

Kevin W. Demain, 36, of 235 W. Chestnut St., Apt. 207, Washington; second DUI offense; charged Feb. 15 following a traffic stop on West Chestnut Street in Washington with a 0.147 BAC; sentence – 30 days to 6 months in jail, $750 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver’s license suspension.

Six people were admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first-time offenders. If they successfully complete the program, they can petition the court to have their records expunged.

They were: Jeffrey B. Hiton, 37, of 731 N. Main St., Houston; Evan J. Coss, 23, of 103 W. Lincoln Ave., Apt. 3, McDonald; Christopher J. Klovan, 47, of 211 Olde Orchard Drive, Bridgeville; Cody J. Luther Rogers, 19, of 126 Altamont Ave., Washington; George E. Chappell, 51, of 229 Center Ave., Burgettstown; and Melanie L. Broker, 40, of 539 Highland Ave., Apt. 2, Canonsburg.
