Disabled American Veterans Chapter 123 will hold a benefit chicken roast Saturday with all proceeds going to Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Department.

Country music will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the New Freeport fire hall. Bands scheduled to appear are Plumm Lost and Country Sounds. The event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary and admission is $3.

The Waynesburg High School Tip-Off Boosters will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the high school. All parents who have a seventh to 12th-grade boy signed up for the upcoming basketball season at Margaret Bell Miller Middle School or at the high school should plan to attend the meeting.

Whiteley Township Society of Farm Women will meet at noon Tuesday at the College Town Diner. The theme will be Thanksgiving memories.

Morgan Township Society of Farm Women will meet at noon Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church. Betty Hurd will lead devotions. Members are asked to bring a bag lunch and dessert. Roll call will be answered to, “Have you seen any wild turkeys?”

Terry Davin, founder and president of the Greene County Watershed Alliance, will be the guest speaker at the meeting of the Warrior Trail Association at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Warrior Trail Headquarters in Fordyce. This will be a covered-dish dinner meeting and the Warrior Trail Association will provide the main course. For more information, call Llew Williams at 724-447-2951. This presentation is free and open to the public.

An elementary Saturday happening for children in grades two through six will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Cornerstone Bible Ministries CBM Camp, Jefferson. Cost is $5 and there will be a guest speaker, crafts, archery and carpet ball. Lunch will be provided. A free hunter’s breakfast will be held from 4:30 to 7 a.m. Nov. 26 at Waynesburg Bible Chapel, 800 E. Greene St., Waynesburg. The menu will include biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast, coffee and juice.
