Buffalo Creek Watershed Association will hold “The ABCs and Es (Ecological Benefits) of Composting” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Buffalo Township Municipal Building, 400 Buffalo Center Lane, Washington. Dr. Candy DeBerry, associate professor of biology from Washington & Jefferson College, will introduce the basics and benefits of composting.

DeBerry is passionate about ecological gardening, and her garden is certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation and a bird habitat by the Audubon Society of Pennsylvania.

She will provide handouts and advice, focusing on the basics of composting, practical advice for starting and maintaining a compost pile and ways to use compost.
