BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (AP) – A Western Pennsylvania man has been charged with criminal homicide in his wife’s 1993 drowning death following a coroner’s inquest in which a witness says he saw the man hold the woman under water with a long-handled pool skimmer.

Beaver County District Attorney Anthony Berosh and the Patterson Township police didn’t immediately comment on the charges filed after Thursday’s coroner’s inquest into the June 18, 1993 death of 34-year-old Debbie Lang.

Online court records show police charged her former husband, 54-year-old Jon Lang, of Industry, but do not list an attorney for him. Lang also does not have a listed phone number.

The Beaver County Times reports the new witness was an overnight guest who was just 16 at the time. Authorities say he came forward this year and told police what he saw.
