PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh police said a man who robbed four banks in the city’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood this year, including the same branch twice in one week, is now in custody.

A task force led by federal marshals arrested 33-year-old Joseph Guiney Jr. on Tuesday in Penn Hills.

He’s charged with robbing the Citizens Bank branch Nov. 9 and again Saturday, even though it was one of seven branches under surveillance by roving patrols that day.

Guiney reportedly pointed a pistol at a teller and said, “Give it up. You gave it up last week, so give it up again.”

Guiney was being interviewed at police headquarters and was then to be arraigned on charges for four robberies that began March 27. The other three have been robbed since Halloween.
