Vehicle hits pole: Robert C. Weller Jr., 60, of 423 W. College St., Canonsburg, told Canonsburg police early Friday that he was driving west on West Pike Street when he struck a utility pole after swerving his vehicle to avoid three deer. The report did not indicate if he was injured.

Bike stolen: David A. Ritenour of 515 Valley View Terrace told Canonsburg police Saturday his copper and gold 20-inch Mongoose bicycle was stolen from his home.

Harassment charge: Jan Avolia, 44, of Washington, faces a charge of harassment for allegedly slapping Tracey Avolia, 44, also of Washington, during a confrontation Sunday at 259 Lacock St., Canton.

Charged in burglary, assault: Leonard James Skubic, 48, of McKees Rocks, was arrested Thursday afternoon by Charleroi Regional police on charges of burglary, receiving stolen property, theft, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police were flagged down by Angel Smith, who told officers Skubic woke her up by stabbing the air mattress where she had been sleeping at 847 Lincoln Ave. She told police he also assaulted her and stole several items, including a flat-screen television. Skubic was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in the Washington County jail on $35,000 bond.

Assault charge pending: Amy Holmes of 276 McClane Farm Road will be charged by Chartiers police with simple assault for allegedly biting and punching her husband, Melvin Holmes, during a confrontation at their home early Monday. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Charged in burglary, assault: Lamont Anthony Dixon, 33, of 938 McKean Ave., Donora, was arrested Saturday on a warrant obtained by Donora police stemming from an incident Wednesday. Dixon is accused of entering the home of Ansley Angott, 121 McKean Ave., and striking her in the head. He also reportedly stole a house key. Dixon was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of burglary, simple assault, theft and harassment. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Arrested on drug charges: James Albert Anthony Jr., 23, of 1542 Meldon Ave., Donora, was arraigned Friday on a warrant obtained by Donora police stemming from an Oct. 14 incident in the 1500 block of Meldon. Anthony is charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after police say he was found with the suspected drug during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody on a Westmoreland County arrest warrant. Anthony was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Flees after crash: Carl J. Grimm, 37, of 509 Forest St., Monessen, was arrested Saturday by Monongahela police after they said they witnessed him crashing into another vehicle and then fleeing on West Main Street at Tenth Street. Police were on a traffic stop when they saw Grimm’s pickup truck crash into a van. He then reportedly backed up and fled at a high speed. Police followed and apprehended him near Fourth and Chess streets. Grimm was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash and several traffic violations. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Firearms arrest: Ronald Holloway, 33, of 407 Grandview Ave., Monongahela, was arraigned Friday on charges of carrying a firearm without a license and driving under suspension stemming from an Oct. 27 incident. Police were called to his home for a domestic incident, but he reportedly left the home with a handgun. Police said he was stopped a short time later, and the gun was found under the seat. Holloway was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released on his own recognizance.

Garage burglarized: Christopher A. Reed and David A. Singer of 38 Bowen Ave., Mt. Pleasant, told state police Nov. 12 a detached garage was burglarized. Stolen from the garage were two Stihl chain saws, a Farmboss chain saw, gas-powered leaf blower, weed trimmer, two gas cans and 10 gallons of gasoline. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.

Warrant arrest: Adam Matthew Gallo, 30, of 142 Morton St., New Eagle, was arrested Saturday on a warrant stemming from an Oct. 12 traffic stop by Monongahela police at Chess and Sycamore streets, New Eagle. Police said his truck’s registration had expired two years ago, but the license plate had an April 2013 sticker on it. He also had no insurance, and his license was suspended. Gallo was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of tampering with public records, having expired inspection, no insurance and other traffic violations. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Students charged: A 15-year-old Canonsburg girl and 15-year-old Cecil girl were charged by North Strabane police with disorderly conduct stemming from a confrontation Thursday in the cafeteria at Canon-McMillan High School.

Pipe stolen: Copper pipe and a water meter were reported stolen from a home at 228 Coachside Drive Friday, North Strabane police said. The house is owned by a Texas mortgage company.

Coats stolen: A resident of the 200 block of Rock Run Road reported three winter coats missing from the house, township police said. The coats are valued at a total of $16,500.

Laptop stolen: An employee of a company in the 500 block of Busca Drive returned from vacation in early October to discover his laptop missing, township police said. The laptop, valued at $998, has been missing since Oct. 4 and was not found elsewhere in the company. Police were notified at noon Nov. 13.

Furniture not returned: The manager of Rent-A-Center, Oak Spring Road, told South Strabane police furniture valued at $2,119 was not paid for or returned. They plan to file a private criminal complaint against the 28-year-old Canonsburg man who rented the items.

Disorderly, harassment charges: Robert Austin, 47, of 1050 W. Finley St., Washington, was charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct and harassment after an altercation Sunday with an employee at Pickle’s, Ewing Street. The employee, Robert Bedillion, told police Austin had become belligerent to the bartender after he was cut off from consuming more alcohol. Bedillion said Austin swung at him, so he punched him. Officers said Austin also was belligerent with police.

Statue stolen: Shirley Burroughs of 811 N. Main St. told Washington police Sunday a statue of St. Francis was stolen from her yard.

DUI charge: Tyrone Wormsley, 39, of 330 Duncan Ave., Washington, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after he crashed his vehicle into a parked van in the 400 block of East Maiden Street Saturday, Washington police said. His blood-alcohol content was 2 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication, police said.

Items stolen: Michael Hostinsky of Claysville told Washington police a brown Carhart jacket and medication were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked Friday at 125 W. Beau St.

Man assaulted: William Roderick, 29, of Washington, told Washington police he was punched in the face while outside a business at 701 W. Chestnut St. Friday. Charges are pending against his attacker.

Apartment entered: Michael Tatar of 16 W. Maiden St. told Washington police an apartment in his building was entered and attempts made to break into other apartments. Stolen from the apartment of Sam Kindt were DVDs, a Fossil watch, debit card, hair trimmers and $200 in cash.
