University to hold book fair

WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg University’s education department encourages everyone to give the gift of reading this holiday season by visiting its Scholastic Book Fair from noon to 1 and 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Nov. 30. in Alumni Hall.
Book fair offerings include children’s classics, series, adventures, teen bestsellers and award-winning titles for K-12 students.
“Books make great gifts for children of all ages, and this is the perfect opportunity to get a jumpstart on holiday shopping,” said Fran Boyd, associate professor of education. “Scholastic Book Fairs are fun community events that help inspire children to become lifelong readers.”
Part of the proceeds will be used to purchase books for the Waynesburg University Reading Clinic. The free program teams up education majors with participants of all skill levels for a fun learning experience.
The spring Reading Clinic kicks off Jan. 28 for students in grades K-8. The group meets from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in 325 Miller Hall.
