PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police in western Pennsylvania say a man was arrested after a Pittsburgh narcotics detective reported seeing a pedestrian fired upon from a sport utility vehicle.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says the detective said he was working in a North Side neighborhood when he saw a man in the SUV stick his arm out of a window and fire a gun at a pedestrian, missing him.

Sgt. Robert Jurich said the detective asked the pedestrian to remain and tried to follow the SUV but was unable to do so. But they said they later recovered the gun and arrested a 19-year-old suspect on a firearms charge. Jurich said police haven’t been able to find the pedestrian, who did not stay in the area.
