n Date: Nov. 20
n Present: Stephen Motzer, Jeff Stanley, William Brooks, Sonia Stopperich and Brian Spicer.
n Discussion: A proposed sewage fee increase for the North Strabane Township Municipal Authority was discussed.
Last month Matt Marasco, operations manager for the authority, requested a $1.30 per 1,000 gallon increase to help the authority cover an anticipated shortfall as well as rising fuel costs and medical insurance.
At the time the board indicated it would look at other options and, on Tuesday, supervisors suggested the increase be 65 cents per 1,000 gallons, half of what the authority was asking.
The current rate is $7.70 per 1,000 gallons. The matter will be voted on at the next meeting.
During a public hearing on a conditional use application for a conservation subdivision for 32 single-family homes on Route 519 across from Wylandville Elementary School, residents questioned the amount of traffic on the road and storm water drainage for the property.
Terry Bove of Bove Development Corp., which is developing the residential plan, said he had met with Canon-McMillan school officials and was told children would not be permitted to walk across Route 519 to school. Instead, a bus stop will be made at the entrance of the housing development to pick up the students.
Residents also spoke on concerns that water could cause flooding issues in the Reedville plan of lots.
A public hearing on a proposed wrestling clinic for Munce Road will be held at the next meeting.
The board will hold its December agenda meeting on the Dec. 11 with the legislative meeting on Dec. 18.
n Next meeting: 7 p.m. Nov. 27 at the municipal building.
