A community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the social room of Rogersville United Methodist Church. The meal will be ham, macaroni and cheese, peas, applesauce, roll and dessert. Dinner is free and donations accepted. Carryout available and everyone is welcome. For additional information, call 724-499-5159 or 724-499-5385.The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Carmichaels Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. This will be the club’s annual Christmas party. All members are reminded to bring a covered dish to this event, as well as family members and friends. Items will be collected for the Hugs and Kisses program and the Women’s Shelter. Entertainment will be provided by Bob Podish, local musician.Graysville Volunteer Fire Company will hold its Christmas community covered dish dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 9, in the fire hall. Members of the community and friends are invited to attend and bring a covered dish to share. Ham and buns, coffee, pop and water will be furnished. Santa Claus will visit and have gifts for the children. Wise Men also will attend.Greene County Council on the Arts is sponsoring a bus trip December 23 to a Pittsburgh Pops Concert, “Highmark Holiday Pops – A Holiday Tradition.” The show features Rachel DeShon, winner of Marvin Hamlisch’s “Search for a Star” competition; Ricky Manning, the singing detective; and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. In addition to the concert ticket and bus transportation to the show, the price includes a catered dinner served in the Overlook Room at Heinz Hall prior to the return trip to Waynesburg.
