Expansion plans of Aquatech International Corp. will be among corporate matters that two Canonsburg boards will consider in December.

Aquatech, a global leader in water purification and wastewater treatment, is seeking approval from the borough planning commission to expand its warehouse, at 1 Four Coins Drive, by 12,700 square feet. The work would encompass storage space, loading docks and a concrete pad for lay-down space. That property is zoned light industrial.

The planners are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 in council chambers in the borough building.

Aquatech also has applied to the zoning hearing board for a special exception to a requirement for additional parking spaces. The company is seeking one space for each 900 square feet of expansion, or about 13 spaces, Borough zoning officer Ronald Bachner said the basis of the request is no new employees will require additional spaces.

Canonsburg’s zoning hearing board will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 in council chambers.

The planning commission next week also will consider a request by David Stoehr, owner and principal of Stoehr Development Inc., for a subdivision plan on Four Coins Drive. He said he hopes to sell a seven-acre plot in Fort Pitt Business Park, where zoning is also light industrial. Stoehr would not divulge the name of the potential buyer.

On Dec. 20, the zoning board also will consider a petition by Michael Traficante, owner of Canon-Mac Metals, of 2329 Hill Church Houston Road, Houston. Traficante is applying for a variance or special exception to use three parcels at 360 Euclid Ave. for sorting and packing metals in bulk.

Those properties are owned by Gary and Joan Bradshaw, although Bachner said there is an agreement of sale between Traficante and the Bradshaws.
