Assault arrest: Jason Alan Richards, 23, of 55 Reesmans St., Waynesburg, was arrested early Tuesday by California police for allegedly assaulting Raylan Ludrosky during a confrontation at their home. She told police that Richards smashed her cellphone during an argument. She then reportedly smashed his Playstation. The scuffle continued onto the porch where he reportedly pushed her to the ground. Richards was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Charged in burglary: Emanuel Howard, 28, of Brooklyn, N.Y., will be charged by California police with attempted burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief in connection with a Sept. 24 burglary at 1117 Pennsylvania Ave. Police said Howard fit the description of the suspect. Witnesses identified the coat that he wears as the one on the suspect seen fleeing from the home. Charges will be filed at the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Woman charged: Patricia Sawka, 50, of Brownsville, will be charged by California police with burglary, identity theft, forgery, access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property. She is accused of taking a credit card from a family member and using it to make more than $2,000 in transactions.

Faces DUI charge: Jon Henneke, 36, of Washington, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after he fled the scene of a crash about 12:20 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 79 near the Canon-McMillan Bridge, Canonsburg. State police said he was driving north when his vehicle went off the road, crossed the median and overturned in the southbound lanes of the highway. He fled the scene, but was found a short time later by police. Henneke, who police said suffered a minor injury, had blood drawn to determine his blood alcohol content.

Money taken: Two soft drink machines, one on the second floor and the other on the fourth floor, at Hilton Garden Inn, 1000 Corporate Drive, were damaged during a break-in and the cash boxes were pried open before 3:37 a.m. Tuesday, township police said. An unknown amount of money was stolen.

Theft of clothes: A resident of New Jersey who is staying on Locust Street in Muse, told police he left articles of new clothing in his unlocked sport-utility vehicle and last saw the items at 10 p.m. Saturday, township police said. David Reyes said two pairs of shoes and a black jacket were taken. The theft was reported at 12:22 p.m. Sunday.

Games, movies stolen: Lawrence David Fowler, County Park Road, Cross Creek, told state police Sunday that video games and Blu-Ray movies were stolen from his bedroom.

Parked car hit: Frank Bruno Jr., 28, of 24 S. Haft St., Houston, faces a charge of DUI after he reportedly hit a parked vehicle owned by Evelyn Gostic on Alexander Avenue about 2:40 a.m. Thursday, North Strabane police said. Bruno was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his BAC.

Vehicle stolen: A white 2013 Dodge Challenger coupe, valued at $33,125, was stolen from the lot at Vasko Dodge, 3644 Washington Road, township police said. The theft was reported at 11:09 a.m. Monday. The vehicle was recovered later in the day in Duquesne.

Items stolen: Tamara Scherer, of No. 2, 600 Beech St., told police Monday her car was entered overnight and a GPS, her briefcase and a cell phone charger and cables taken. Police said the car was unlocked.

Assault arrest: Derek Walters, 23, of 323 Pittsburgh Road, West Brownsville, was arrested Monday night by state police after he allegedly kicked Destiny Johnson in the leg and lower back. Walters was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.
