State police are looking for a 27-year-old Finleyville woman who escaped from a downtown Pittsburgh halfway house Tuesday afternoon after she allegedly pulled the fire alarm.

Dana Nichole Fritz, whose last known address was 2032 Route 88, reportedly pulled the first-floor fire alarm at the Renewal Community Corrections Center and left through the front door, failing to return.

In March 2011, Fritz pleaded guilty to breaking into nine homes in Union and Peters townships. The burglaries happened in December 2009 and January and July 2010.

She also pleaded guilty at the same time to false identification and retail theft. Fritz was charged in January 2010 by Monongahela police with retail theft for stealing items from the Dollar General on East Main Street. City police also charged her with false identification stemming from an incident a day later in Finleyville.

She was sentenced by former Judge Paul Pozonsky to 3 to 6 years in prison.

Fritz is 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds with blue eyes and brownish-blond hair. She has tattoos of three roses on her lower back and five piercings in each ear and navel.

Trooper Robin Mungo said Fritz will be returned to jail when she is caught. A warrant has been issued for Fritz on an escape charge. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call state police at the Pittsburgh station at 412-787-2000.
