A Prosperity man will spend the next 18 months to 3 years in prison for his role in a rash of thefts and fires in East Finley and Morris townships in 2011 and 2012.

Junior Glenn Curtis Jr., 27, of 850 S Bridge Road, pleaded guilty Sept. 21 before Washington County Judge Janet Moschetta Bell to theft, arson and four counts of burglary. Curtis also will spend 7 years on probation following his incarceration and was ordered to pay more than $7,200 in restitution, court records show.

A codefendant, Jeffrey Wayne McConnell Jr., 22, of 274 Stringtown Road, Graysville, still faces numerous charges including multiple counts of burglary, theft and arson. He remains in the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond.

The pair reportedly stole everything from jewelry, cash, scrap metal and copper wire to a 325-gallon plastic water tank at multiple locations between April and December 2011. State police indicated that McConnell and Curtis often used a two-way radio to coordinate their criminal activities.

They also were accused of stealing a sport utility vehicle from Washington Crown Center in October 2011 by hot-wiring it. Curtis reportedly set fire to the vehicle after striking a tree along Quaker Ridge Road in Morris.

Additionally, Curtis was accused of stealing a 1990 Ford Bronco from a East Finley man and selling it for $300 to a man in Littleton, W.Va., Feb. 23.
