Charleroi Borough is set to increase the fines parking tickets carry for the first time in two decades. Beginning Monday, the fee will increase from $1 if paid within 24 hours to $2 when paid within 48 hours, borough manager Donn Henderson said. If the deadline is missed, the fine will increase to $5 and then $20 before a ticket is turned over to district court 28 to 30 days after being issued. The increase is needed to cover the administrative cost of parking enforcement.
