A Charleroi woman arrested last month for allegedly assaulting her girlfriend is facing more charges after she reportedly almost caused the constable transporting her to the Washington County jail to crash his van. Ashley Nicole Wilson, 28, of 409 Sixth St., Charleroi, was charged by state police Thursday with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct for nearly causing state Constable Walter Fronzaglio, 72, of Donora, to crash on Interstate 70 near the Ginger Hill exit, Bentleyville. Wilson was being transported from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson in Ellsworth to the jail after she had been arraigned on Sept. 30 on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. She had been accused of assaulting Evelyn Tillman. Wilson also allegedly dug her nails into the arm of one Charleroi police officer and then kicked a second officer. Fronzaglio was taking her to jail when she reportedly jumped up from the rear seat and removed the keys from the ignition of his vehicle, almost causing him to lose control. The van went into the median. Fronzaglio was able to push her back into the rear seat and hold her until state police arrived. Troopers then transported Wilson to the jail. This is the second time in the last 18 months that Fronzaglio had a problem while transporting an inmate to jail on Interstate 70. In May 2011, he was allegedly assaulted by Shaun Rosario, who was being taken to jail on a probation detainer. Rosario was reportedly able to free himself from the back seat of the van and put Fronzaglio in a choke hold, causing the vehicle to roll over. Wilson remains in jail on $5,000 bond on the initial charges as well as an adult probation detainer. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 20 before District Judge Larry Hopkins on the assault charges. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled before Thompson on the new charges.
