Theft: Melissa Gavazzi, 32, and Shawn Border, 35, both of Burgettstown, told police $11 in change was stolen from their unlocked vehicles at 221 Eldersville Road Friday.
Assault: Ryan Dickson, 21, of Irwin, is being charged with simple assault after allegedly headbutting Dan Dascani, 26, of Connellsville, during an altercation at 4 a.m. Saturday at 635 Rear Wood Street, police said. Dascani had a tooth knocked out as a result. Dascani tried to punch Dickson but was unsuccessful. Along with the simple assault charge, Dickson is also being charged with harassment. Dascani also is facing a harassment charge.
Crash: Tyler Guynn, 19, of Houston, Mo., was traveling west on Interstate 70 about 12:40 a.m. Saturday when, in an attempt to avoid something on the road, he swerved and lost control of his car, police said. The vehicle traveled up an embankment on the north side of the road and rolled down onto the berm. Guynn sustained a moderate injury and was taken to a Wheeling hospital.
Vehicle DUI crash: A vehicle being driven by Teddy Lynn Lylte, 52, of Krum, Texas, went off the road about 2:55 a.m. Saturday and damaged about 50 yards of guardrail, police said. Lylte displayed numerous signs of intoxication and was taken into custody. Charges of driving under the influence and several traffic violations are pending before District Judge Ethan Ward.
Theft: Someone stole 50 feet of barge rope from property belonging to Michael Trbovich on Clarksville Road on Thursday or Friday, police said.
