Items stolen from car: Evan Bruce of 612 High St. reported to police Sunday his vehicle had been broken into overnight. Stolen were an iPod, a GPS and chargers for a cellphone, an iPod and a GPS.
Sex assault investigation: State police and Washington County Children & Youth Services are investigating a possible case of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse involving a 9-year-old girl. Troopers said the incident occurred between May 25 and June 24 in a wooded area along Henderson Avenue. A 15-year-old boy, who was known to the victim, is the suspect.Burglary: Justin Cook, 23, of Washington, was charged in a burglary at the home of Randal Higgins, 51, of Washington, Oct. 9. State troopers said Cook entered Higgins’ home and took $440 in cash and a prescription for morphine. As he was walking out the front door, he was arrested by troopers.
Mother, son file reports: George Stegenga, 26, of 517 Maple Ave., told police he returned home Sunday afternoon to find his home entered and a television stolen. When his mother, Robin Stegenga, 52, arrived home she discovered a safe containing jewelry missing from a bedroom closet and her dresser drawers in disarray. She told police her son had taken her vehicle, and she wanted it returned.Writing in blood: A woman with a paper towel wrapped over her bleeding hand reportedly got out of her car on Second Street Sunday morning and wrote “bitch” in her own blood on the driver’s side doors of two cars, one parked on Second Street and the other on Blaine Avenue. The woman was driving a dark blue car with a loud exhaust and circled the neighborhood several times before exiting the vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle and said the registration on the vehicle came back unknown.TVs stolen, damaged: Rachel Ann Phillips and Arthur Jay Snyder, both of 327 North Jefferson Ave., reported a television set was stolen and another one damaged in an apparent burglary at their home Saturday morning.Cab ride theft: Police plan to file theft charges against Johnette C. Wynkoop, 62, of 201 Village Drive, who allegedly failed to pay for a cab ride to 617 West Pike St. Friday night. Police said Yellow Cab of Pittsburgh dropped her off at a store, which refused to cash a check for $1,000. Wynkoop said she did not have funds to pay the $60 fare without having the check cashed.Drug charge: Cody Coyle, 18, of 222 Hutchinson Ave., was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana. Police stopped him on Iron Street Sunday night.
Driver charged: State police said a 50-year-old White Oak man faces charges of recklessly endangering another person after he deliberately struck another vehicle at Exit 15 of westbound Interstate 70 Friday. Police said the driver, whose name they did not release, pulled from the right lane left into a vehicle operated by Bylly Tarver, 43, of Monessen. Tarver struck the left guardrail but managed to maintain control of his vehicle. There were two passengers in his car, but police did not indicate if anyone was injured. The man from White Oak continued west without stopping.
Police pursuit: Lloyd Brian Wadsworth, 43, of 25 Barcelona Lane, Dunlevy, is charged by state police with fleeing or eluding police, driving under the influence of alcohol and numerous vehicle citations for speeding off on his motorcycle after police pulled him over in the 400 block of Route 88 about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, court records show. Police followed him for about a mile, taking him into custody after he fell off his motorcycle while attempting to drive it onto a dirt road off Sphar Street in Dunlevy, the affidavit indicates. Wadsworth is free on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Charges filed: Brandon Dyson, 32, of 811 Addison St., Washington, is facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and access device fraud filed Monday by city police, court records show. Police accuse Dyson of driving a car owned by his grandmother, Patricia Barnhart of Washington, without her permission and also using her banking card to make $462 in purchases, the affidavit indicates.Money missing: Barbara Nicollela told police that more than $3,000 was missing from an area of Peppino’s Restaurant, 234 S. Main St., while she was processing paperwork Friday morning. Nicollela went to deposit the money and discovered it was missing.Pills missing: Glenn White of 140 Grove Ave. informed police 90 hydrocodone pills were missing from the center console of his car. White said his car was broken into between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday.Drug charges: Alquan Barrett, 31, of 117 Hall Ave., was jailed on $25,000 bond Friday on charges of possession with intent to deliver. Police said they observed Barrett’s vehicle pulled over and an apparent drug transaction taking place. Barrett gave police permission to search his vehicle but allegedly attempted to throw a rock of crack cocaine into the rear seat. Police said they found crack cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle, more than $2,500 in cash, and also a small amount of marijuana on his passenger, Amanda Yater of 485 Moore Road. At the station, police said another rock of crack cocaine was found in Barrett’s buttocks. Police said charges will be filed later against Yater.Trespass charge: Quiote Guarino of 630 Fayette St. faces charges of criminal trespass after he allegedly went into his neighbor’s home uninvited and broke several items Friday. Police said Linda Amon of 622 Fayette St. told them Guarino also shoved and kicked her.Theft from home: Charlene Ambrose of 90 N. Main St., Apt. 5, reported the theft of a gold watch and cash from her home Friday.Drug charges: Kayla McConnell, 22, who is homeless, will be charged with possession after police said they discovered six syringes, two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and a tie-off band on her Friday at the corner of Shrub Avenue and Church Street.PFA violation alleged: Michael Settle of 66 Wilson Ave. will be charged with violating a protection-from-abuse order Friday afternoon. Police said Kayla Ducat was walking in the 600 block of Main Street when she saw Settle. She said she crossed the street, and he did so, too. She crossed two more times, and she said when he continued to follow her she began to run. She told police Settle left his 1-year-old daughter alone to catch up with her, spit in her face and threatened to shoot her. Police said she had obtained a PFA against him Oct. 2.
