Man pleads guilty to stealing jewels

WAYNESBURG – A Waynesburg man who pleaded guilty to stealing jewelry from his aunt with whom he resided was sentenced Tuesday by Judge Farley Toothman to 3 to 48 months in jail.Brandon Timothy Munn, 29, of 83 Montgomery Ave., pleaded guilty to theft in August for stealing jewelry and a one ounce silver bar from his aunt, Jamie Munn, while she was on vacation between Sept. 15 and 21, 2011.The silver bar was sold to the Waynesburg Gold and Coin Exchange and some of the jewelry to the Gold Buyers Kiosk at Uniontown Mall, police said.Munn was given credit for time served, 23 days; was ordered to pay a $750 fine and $1,999 in restitution. He also must perform 75 hours of community service.
