A 44-year-old Washington woman died in a Pittsburgh hospital Wednesday night from injuries she suffered in a vehicle accident on Jefferson Avenue last week. Kimberly Copechal was pronounced dead at 6 p.m. at UMPC-Presbyterian hospital, according to a spokesman for the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office. She died of traumatic injuries to the trunk and head, he stated. The spokesman said Copechal’s death has been ruled accidental. Copechal and two passengers, Randy Lewis of Washington and David Riley, address unknown, were flown by helicopters to Pittsburgh hospitals following the 10:30 p.m. crash Oct. 18. According to city police, Copechal vehicle hit a telephone pole in front of Nick’s Tobacco and speed likely was a factor in the crash. The passengers’ conditions were not known and police were unable to give further information in regard to the crash. Copechal was a graduate of Washington High School and Penn Commercial and worked in medical billing and coding at Washington Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Washington.
