Greene County 4-H Market Hog Auction was held Oct. 13 at Greene County Fairgrounds. The results were: n Grand champion and champion heavyweight – Branden Sanders, son of Brian and Pam Sanders of Waynesburg, 274 pounds at $8 per pound, purchased by Rice Energy n Reserve grand champion and reserve champion heavyweight – Kaitlyn Jones, daughter of Kenny and Kim Jones of Wind Ridge, 287 pounds at $3.50 per pound, purchased by Principle Energy Services n Champion middleweight – Cassie Orndorff, daughter of Corbly and Christy Orndorff of Waynesburg, 245 pounds at $3.75 per pound, purchased by Ross Tractor Sales n Champion lightweight – Alley Younken, daughter of Mike and Shelly Younken of Waynesburg, 217 pounds at $7.50 pr pound, purchased by Waynesburg University n Reserve champion middleweight – Hannah Reed, daughter of Bob and Karen Reed of Waynesburg, 250 pounds at $2.75 per pound, purchased by First Federal Savings & Loan Association n Reserve champion lightweight – David Price, son of David and Laurie Price of Waynesburg, 205 pounds at $2.50 per pound, purchased by Waynesburg University n Senior showman – Cassie Orndorff, daughter of Corbly and Christy Orndorff of Waynesburg n Intermediate showman – Casey Hawk, daughter of Christopher Hawk of Uniontown and Carrie Hawk of East Millsboro n Junior showman – Ben Archer, son of David and Robin Archer of West Finley n Rate of gain – Kolby Harbarger, son of Lane and Sioux Harbarger of Carmichaels Judge was Danny Ahrens, and the 47 hogs averaged $3.43 a pound.
