WAYNESBURG – The new Waynesburg Community Center, 1505 Morris St., will celebrate its senior center roots from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 15. The old senior center stood on North Richhill Street until it had to be razed last summer. Jim Randolph, Waynesburg University curator, was lurking at the old center’s site and took every opportunity to collect materials as the building came down so he could make beautiful mementos. There will be a showing of jewelry, candleholders and a bench Randolph made from the materials of the building: glass, tile, wood (including walnut from the tree that stood in the backyard), slate and marble. The event is open to everyone who wants to see these items. For more information, email mystudior@windstream.net or call 724-852-6363.
