Students to get a taste of college life

WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg University will host a fall overnight visitation for high school seniors Nov. 11 and 12. The visitation will give prospective students the opportunity to experience student life while interacting with university students. Registration will be held in Miller Hall beginning at 5 p.m. Nov. 11.”Our overnight visitation gives prospective students a good look at what student life is all about at Waynesburg University,” said Jessica Sumpter, director of admissions at the university. “Worshiping at Upper Room, staying in the dorms and attending classes the next day are all experiences that allow visitors to truly understand what it will be like to be a student here.”When students arrive on campus, they will be paired with current students who will serve as their overnight hosts. Through their hosts, participants will be given an inside look at the residence halls, academic programs, student life and campus facilities.Participants will have the opportunity to observe classes related to their potential areas of study and meet with students and faculty members in their intended majors. A variety of activities will be offered to event participants including ice breakers, a pizza party, informational student discussion groups, games and an ice cream social, among others.With more than 70 academic concentrations at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels, approximately 1,500 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate and professional students have the ability to explore their passion.For more information, call the office of admissions at 1-800-225-7393.
