A Washington cellphone store was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.Washington police Officer Kent Mitchell said a man wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt entered the Jefferson Wireless store, 1052 Jefferson Ave., about 3 p.m.”He had the hood up went he came into the store,” Mitchell said. “He walked up to the counter and told the clerk not to be scared. When she asked why she would be scared, he pulled out a gray handgun.”The clerk told police that he kept the weapon close to his chest and demanded all the cash from the register. He then left and fled on foot around the side of the building. Police do not know if he had a vehicle hidden at the rear of the building. They will also check store surveillance.The robber is white, 6 feet tall, with a skinny build. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call police at 724-223-4226 or call 911.
