GCASR Volunteer of Year recognized
WAYNESBURG – Greene County Association of School Retirees honored Becci Watson as the GCASR Volunteer of the Year at its fall luncheon.GCASR is the local chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, an all-inclusive organization made up of all school retirees whether they were employed as teachers, administrators, clerical staff, custodial staff, bus drivers or any others. The organization stresses that all of its members volunteer in as many ways as possible to the local community. Watson volunteered this year by serving on the Americn Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery Drive, as well as participating in numerous hospital and nursing home visitations.She also is a court-appointed Special Child Advocate for Washington County, through which she serves in peer counseling and other services to youth. GCASR is proud of all its members who volunteer to serve, and it honors Watson for exemplifying that as the Volunteer of the Year.
