Halloween skate held at Mon View
GREENSBORO – More than 175 individuals attended the fifth annual “Halloween Skate & Dance,” held from 7 to 11 p.m. Oct. 26 at Mon View Roller Rink in Greensboro.Sponsored by Walmart, the event featured treats and skating activities.Costume judging took place for funniest, ugliest, prettiest, scariest and most original costumes. Prizes were awarded in four different age categories: Ages 5-7, 8-10, 11-13 and 14-17. All winners received $5 gift cards from Walmart.Winners of the Halloween costume judging contest by category and age were: n Prettiest – Taeler Montgomery, 7, of Waynesburg, Ashley Kime, 8, of Carmichaels, Victoria Duranko, 11, of Carmichaels, Christal Ryczek, 12, of Greensboro, and Carly Riggi, 14, of Jefferson.n Most original – Garrett Kime, 6, of Clarksville, Alissa Grimm, 9, of Masontown, Rhianna Ryczek, 11, of Greensboro, and Rebecca McOsker, 15, of Waynesburg.n Ugliest – Joey Crawford, 9, of Clarksville, Justina Manning, 13, of Carmichaels, and Hannah Cunningham, 17, of Mapletown.n Funniest – Jaden Revak, 8, of Masontown, Marissa Romanakis, 12, of Waynesburg, and Nicole Walker, 14, of Carmichaels.n Scariest – Chase Crawford, 7, of Clarksville, Cody Grim, 7, of Carmichaels, Emily Conklin, 11, of Crucible, Samuel Smitley, 17, of Dilliner, and Brandyn Schaum, 18, of Dilliner.The “Halloween Skate & Dance” kicked off the 2012-13 skating season at Mon View Roller Rink. Skating hours are 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is $5 for all skaters, whether renting skates or bringing their own, and $5 for nonskaters. Times and prices may change for special events.Four more “Skate & Dance” events are scheduled for Fridays throughout the fall. The dates are Nov. 2, 16 and 30 and Dec. 14. Admission is $8. The annual “All Night Skate” will be held from 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve to 6 a.m. New Year’s Day. Admission is $10, and children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The price covers admission and skate rental for 20 people. A fee of $3 per additional person will be charged.
