Mapletown United Methodist Church will hold a creamed chicken and biscuit dinner from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The menu also will include mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverages. Cost is $8 for a large serving; $4 for a small one. Eat in or takeout is available. For more information, call 724-943-3219.

Jefferson Baptist Church, 179 Pine St., Jefferson, is offering monthly support group meetings for friends and relatives of those who suffer from substance abuse of any kind. The next meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the church basement. Meetings are held at the same time on the second Tuesday of every month. At the meetings, people can talk to others who are struggling with how to deal with their loves ones who are addicted to alcohol or drugs. Flags for veterans’ graves will be available from Greene County Veterans Affairs. Organizations, such as American Legion and VFW posts, can pick up flags from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The distribution for cemeteries will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 13 through May 17 at the Greene County Veterans Affairs office at 22 W. High St., Waynesburg.
