Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 34, will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Carmichaels Veterans of Foreign Wars. All members are urged to attend.

Waynesburg Community Center is holding knitting classes from 12:15 to 2 p.m. Mondays. If you would like to learn how to make Sashay scarves, then come to the class. The Center also is looking for a volunteer to teach scrapbooking classes. Anyone interested in teaching this class should call the center at 724-627-8832 and ask for Tina Raber.

Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off the water from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday on Porter Street from Race Street to Crabapple, including Crabapple, Bridge Street Commons and Mountainview Gardens in Waynesburg. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep some containers of water to minimize the outage.

Morgan Township Society of Farm Women will meet at noon Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. Nancy McNeely will have devotions, and Kay Mitchell will provide dessert and cold drinks. Members are asked to bring a bag lunch. Roll call will be answered to, “Do you feel we can expect a cold and wet spring?”
