The girlfriend of one of the men charged in connection with a chase Wednesday morning will be charged by state police with hindering apprehension.

Brooke Lee Johnson, 30, of 616 Regent St., Chartiers Township, is accused of hiding Earle Clifford Williams in her home after he ran from police.

Williams, 27, of 120 Church St., Washington, is accused of leading state police on a chase that started on Interstate 70 near the Jessop Place exit in Canton Township. His acquaintance, Scott Anthony Domske, 33, of 414 Forrest Ave., Chartiers Township, faces charges including hindering apprehension.

Williams was allegedly clocked going 80 mph in a sport utility vehicle owned by Domske. He merged onto Interstate 79 northbound, where state police said he increased his speed to 100 mph.

Police continued to pursue him as he got on and off at the Racetrack Road exit before getting off at the Houston exit and turning toward the borough. Williams eventually turned onto Pike Street and North Johnson Road before turning onto Forrest and pulling into the yard at Domske’s home.

Police said Williams got out of the vehicle, ignored a trooper’s orders to stop and get on the ground, and ran into Domske’s house.

Police learned a man matching Williams’ description was seen running by construction workers in the area. When police asked Domske where Williams was, Domske said Williams had run into his house and asked him to hide him before running out the back door.

Domske told police Williams’ girlfriend, later identified as Johnson, lived nearby. Police say she initially told them he was not in her house and she had not seen him for weeks.

She allowed police to enter her home, and Williams was found hiding in a third-floor attic crawl space. Police say Johnson later admitted to them she helped Williams hide.

The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Williams remains in the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond, while Domske is lodged there on $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing will be held before Mark May 1.
